CONGRESSIONAL HEARING SAYS FALUN GONG PEOPLE SLAUGHTERED FOR ORGANS
As many as 40,000 Falun Gong practitioners who committed no crime have been secretly put to death in Chinese hospitals and their organs sold “on-demand,” investigators recently told a U.S. Congressional committee in Washington, DC. Worse still, little is being done to stop the ongoing killing. “Time is very much of the essence on this issue,” said former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia and the Pacific David Kilgour. “We believe that innocent men and women continue to be killed across China for their organs as commercial products.” Committee Chair Rep. Dana Rohrabacher said: “Now it appears that the ultimate horror may be taking place: Falun Gong practitioners being killed so that some corrupt official can
profit from the sale of their body parts.”

SKY NEWS: CHINA’S EXECUTION BUSES AND COURAGEOUS ATTORNEY
In a shocking video that includes scenes of torture, execution, and a live arrest, Sky News tells of the Chinese communist regime’s new “execution buses.” These vehicles allow Chinese police to execute “on the go” and immediately extract organs, which can then be sold at high profits. The video describes how confessions are obtained through torture and “99.9 percent” of those who are on death row, even if erroneously, are killed. The video also includes an interview with human rights attorney Mr. Gao Zhisheng, weeks before he was arrested. The video, which raises questions about the 2008 Beijing Olympics, ends with correspondent Dominic Waghorn and his cameraman being arrested after quickly leaving Gao’s home. Gao continues to be detained today.

FOREIGN CORRESPONDENTS, THERE IS EVEN MORE TO THIS STORY
High as the Chinese execution figures are, they still do not account for the total number of organ transplants reported in China, especially given the fact that voluntary organ donations are very rare. According to an investigative report by Canadians David Kilgour and David Matas (link [http://investigation.go.saveinter.net/]), the main source of organs appears to come from the murder of prisoners of conscience who have been jailed for practicing Falun Gong. The Falun Dafa Infocenter sincerely hopes that the courageous journalists who have recently done such a terrific job revealing the illicit organ trade industry in China will take their investigations a step further. We hope they will uncover the story behind the large percentage of the organs coming from Falun Gong practitioners who are being killed in a secret campaign of genocide. We encourage correspondents to contact the Infocenter, and we will do our best to provide leads and contacts.

TAIWANESE BILL SEEKS TO COMBAT CHINESE ORGAN HARVESTING
With the support of 89 of his colleagues, Taiwanese legislator Lai Ching-Te has introduced a bill that asks the Executive Yuan to allocate funds towards educating the Taiwanese people about the organ harvesting industry in China. According to Lai, 4,740 Taiwanese have gone to China to receive organ transplants; many have returned with severe health problems and some have died. Lai said he believes Taiwan’s international image will be damaged if it is discovered that organs stolen from Falun Gong practitioners in China are being transplanted in Taiwanese people. “This is a disastrous human rights violation,” said Lai. “If Taiwanese people would not go to China for organ transplants, the market there would shrink, and our Falun Gong friends and other innocent people in Mainland China wouldn’t have to suffer.”

61 FALUN GONG PRACTITIONERS KILLED IN JULY, AUGUST, AND SEPTEMBER
During July, August, and September, reports of 61 adherents of Falun Gong who had died as a result of persecution, mostly from torture sustained in custody, were sent from inside China, translated, and published on Clearharmony.net. With these cases, the total confirmed number of individuals killed as a result of the seven-year persecution has risen to 2,959, though some estimate the real figure is in the tens of thousands.

DISTRESSED ELDERLY SEEK JUSTICE
The article “Relentless Persecution Causes Countless Tragedies All Over China,” includes photos of persecution victims and new photos of the loved ones who survive them. One photo (link [http://clearwisdom.net/emh/article_images/2006-5-4-wangjianguo-03.jpg]), for instance, shows the 81-year-old grandmother of Mr. Wang Jianguo walking down a Jilin province street holding his photo in front of her chest. She said: “My grandson was wrongfully killed! He and his wife owned a restaurant and they lived a happy life. He was killed at the detention center after being held there for only 40 days, only because he practiced Falun Gong! I have nowhere to seek justice!”

Another featured case is that of Mr. Liu Shunping, who was over 90 years old. Liu wrote to the authorities in an attempt to rescue his jailed son. “My son is innocent and has never violated any law of this country,” he wrote. “Do you know, Sir, that you are persecuting an outstandingly good person, a good person who cultivates himself according to Truth, Compassion, Tolerance? My son, Liu Yong, became considerate and diligent after he practiced Falun Dafa. He quit lots of bad habits. How can such person be a criminal?”
