Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in Europe

May 13, 2017, is the 25th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and the 18th World Falun Dafa Day. Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioners across the globe celebrate the occasion by holding parades, rallies, group practice, artistic performances, and so on. They also raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Celebratory events were recently held in the UK, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.

Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in the UK

Falun Gong practitioners held a rally and press conference across from the Chinese Embassy in London on May 7, 2017. Dr. Liu of the UK Falun Dafa Association; David Matas, a Canadian human rights lawyer; and Ms. Song, who was persecuted by the CCP in China, spoke at the press conference.

A parade was held after the rally. Banners led the procession, followed by practitioners demonstrating the exercises, posters showing the worldwide spread of Falun Gong, celestial maidens, and waist drummers. The next-to-last contingent were practitioners dressed in white and holding portraits of fellow practitioners tortured to death by the CCP. The last part of the procession featured practitioners holding posters calling for an end to the CCP persecution.

Some practitioners distributed flyers and hand-made paper lotus flowers to spectators along the route.

The parade started at the Chinese Embassy, passed through the congested business area, and ended in Chinatown. The practitioners then gathered on Trafalgar Square to hold a rally and raise awareness of the CCP’s persecution.

Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in the Netherlands

Falun Gong practitioners in the Netherlands held activities on Dam Square, a well-known tourist destination. They did the exercises together and performed on the square.

Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in Paris

Falun Gong practitioners held activities on Human Rights Square under the Eiffel Tower on May 7, 2017. They did the exercises together, held performances, raised awareness, and collected signatures.

Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in Sweden

Falun Gong practitioners gathered in the Royal Garden in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 6, 2017, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. They demonstrated the five exercises, set up posters, and shared experiences about practicing Falun Gong.

Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in Denmark

Falun Gong practitioners in Denmark held activities in Copenhagen and Aarhus on May 6. They held group practice in Kongens Have, Copenhagen, in the morning. They held banners on Kultorvet Square and raised awareness of the CCP’s persecution in the afternoon.

Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in Finland

Falun Gong practitioners held celebratory activities in a coastal park on May 6.
